Enable Ability – working with Disabled people

We are a voluntary organisation providing an independent, issue based advocacy service for disabled people, their families and carers in Portsmouth and South East Hants.

Our fully trained volunteer advocates work on a one to one basis to support clients to speak up for themselves or for an advocate to speak on the clients behalf. The aim of the service is to enable disabled people and their carers to take an active role in making decisions about issues which affect their lives.

We now also provide an advocacy service specifically for young disabled people who would like to involve an independent person to support them through the transition period from childhood to adulthood.

Referrals for all our services are welcome from any source.
